Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a voluntary, non-competitive programme of activities for young people. It is a recognition of a young person’s successful journey of self-discovery and development, renowned by employers and universities alike for the qualities young people have who've achieved a DofE Award. Its balanced programme develops the whole person - mind, body and soul, in an environment of social interaction and teamwork.
We are very proud of the continued success of our students on the programme, and more information about their many achievements will appear on this page shortly. Our DofE programme is co-ordinated by Miss Emily Weston, an experienced outdoor instructor and PE Teacher, who can be contacted for more information by clicking here.
There are three progressive levels of DofE programmes which, when successfully completed, lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Corsham School offers students in years 9 – 13 a DofE programme at all three award levels:

World Challenge
Every year, The Corsham School gives students the chance to take part in a World Challenge expedition. World Challenge is a leading provider of overseas adventure travel programs for students aged 15-18. Founded in 1987, the company offers transformative travel experiences that complement school learning, fostering personal growth, global citizenship, and cultural literacy. Students participate in expeditions that range from 10–30 days, where they take on leadership roles, manage budgets, and engage with local communities.
We visit various far-flung corners of the globe, giving students the chance to immerse themselves in different cultures and learn about themselves in the vastly differing surroundings of South America, Africa and Asia. Previous World Challenge expeditions have seen our students visit the following countries:
2010 - Peru
2011 - Iceland
2012 - Bolivia
